Christmastime in Palermo, Sicily

I'll never forget the beginning of December I spent in Palermo Sicily with my dear 'far-away family' in 2006.
Holiday decor aside....I am in love with the city's ancient carved-out alleyways and battered walls and the thousands of years of history painted on the walls....the archaic facades and local faces...cheerful personalities and children's laughter flutter through the streets.....to me, Palermo is so profoundly gorgeous.....but all of that charm and soulful connection I felt there....when seen adorned and illuminated with more lights than you've ever seen....a certain magnificence and radiance is brought out that I had never seen, and more importantly, never felt before.....The city becomes magic.
