Thanks to my friend Kate who introduced me to artist Yadid Rubin (first two). She saw his work in the Tel Aviv museum on her recent trip to Israel. From what little work I've seen of his...I really like it, and I have to admit that my instant reaction was that his choice of color and pattern are cut from the same fabric of Gustav Klimt. Their work compliments each other...don't you think? I've always been drawn to paintings with lots of visible layers of color and intricately, obsessively, detailed patterns...I'd love to curate a show based on that theme. Someday when I have my own gallery!!! (...sigh...) In any case, thank you Kate!
glad you like it! obviously all the layers really come across more in person, and most of his paintings are huge which makes it even better. you'd probably also find his evolution as an artist really interesting...his earlier work is completely 100% different.
